Investing in art that changes your life.

Simply put, art can change your life.
‘I dreamt I could fly’ by Jasmine Mansbridge is the first substantial piece of art I purchased for myself, in November last year.
This artwork, for me, was an invitation to do shadow work. I didn’t understand what that meant (yes, the day I hung this painting, I Googled it!). Meditation, journaling, reading, cards and stars … but I ultimately realised the definition would find me anyway, once I began to sit with it.
This painting turned a light on, and gently reminded me to heal; to alchemise my grief, pain, people and experiences into lessons, and step into the version of myself I’ve always wanted to be.
But I also look at it every day, and remember all the times before, when I was in that shadow self, and still found the courage to change my timeline and follow my path. This year, I made a commitment to start showing up as the main character of my own story. I reached a point where I was ready to meet my inner child again (the horses!) and love her so deeply.
In a world propelling in the digital sphere, with artificiality everywhere, this is an experience only creativity can give us.

We invest in art because it connects us––to a feeling, a dream, a moment, or a collective. It has been an investment in my connecting to my heart and true self again, to healing. And an artwork like this, by an artist like Jasmine, is a generational investment. She has a gift for seeing the world in a way most people won’t allow themselves to––and because of that, she’ll touch the world in ways we couldn’t imagine.
I feel so incredibly lucky to have her creativity in my life, with one of her paintings hanging in my home.
